2. You will then complete the course exam. (It’s open book style, with unlimited attempts. You can’t fail.)
3. Once you sucessfully complete the course, you will instantly earn you certificate.
4. We will then report your success to Ohio within 24 business hours.

   How do I complete the 3-Hour Ohio Infection and Sanitiation Education Course?

   After purchase, an email will be sent to you with a clickable link to start the course reading material and exam. You can start the course right away, or wait until you are ready (we suggest you get it out of the way) The course is completely self-paced so you can take as much time as you need.

   The course package includes a 16 question multiple-choice exam and course evaluation. Unlimited exam retakes are allowed if you do not reach the passing score.

   After a passing score (80%) is achieved, a certificate is immediately available for you to download and print. We automatically receive a notification of your exam completion and report your hours to the Bureau which tracks continuing education for the Ohio Board of Cosmetology that same day!

Will you report back to the board that I have completed my continuing education?

Yes, we will report your hours within 24 business hours to the board

Do I receive a certificate of completion after I am finished?

Absolutly, once you have completed the course and sucessfully passed the quiz- your certificate is available immediately.  You are able to download it and print it.  We ask that you keep it for your records.  

Do I need a CE Broker account?  

Yes, the Ohio board likes all hours reported through CE broker.  Please make sure you have created an account with them.  Here is the website to enroll:   

After I renew my Ohio Cosmetology license, will it be sent to me in the mail or by email?

The Ohio State Cosmetology and Barber Board will email you your renewed license within 30 days after you have completed all of your required CE and paid your renewal fee. It will be emailed to the email on file with them in your eLicense account. You can create or login to your eLicense account on the board's eLicense website.

Is anyone exempt from the Ohio cosmetology continuing education requirement?

Yes, there are 3 cases for which continuing education is not required:

• If you are age 65 or older by October 3, 2022 you do not need to take CE.
• If you have had your license with the board for at least 30 years by October 3, 2022 you do not need CE.
• If this is your first Ohio cosmetology license, you do not need CE for the first renewal period.

My Ohio cosmetology license is in an INACTIVE state, do I still need CE?

You will be required to take your CE hours in order to restore your license from INACTIVE to ACTIVE. If you would like to start the process of restoring your license from INACTIVE to ACTIVE visit the Board website on INACTIVE licenses.

My Ohio cosmetology license is in a LAPSED state- what do I do?

If your license is in a LAPSED state that means you have not paid your renewal fees for 2 renewal periods in a row (4 years). To restore your license to ACTIVE state you will need to pay back all fees and take up to 24 hours of CE. If you would like to start the process of restoring your license to ACTIVE state, visit the Board website on license restoration.

Where can I find more information about the CE requirements for cosmetology or how to renew my license in Ohio?

What if I do not see my CE hours reported after 24 hours?

Check your exam certificate and make sure you provided us with the correct license number. If your license number was not correct, please email academy@wuaesthetics.com. If your license number was correct and it has been 72 business hours (24 business hours for our submission and 48 business hours for the department), please email us so we can follow up.  Please make sure your email address and license numbers were correct as well.  

Is this course only available in English?

Great question.  Our courses and exams are web-based. The course is in English, but you can easily translate any page into any language, including Spanish, Mandarin (Chinese), Korean, or Vietnamese if you are familiar with using a page translator.
